March 12th Midlands Retirees Cub - Annual General Meeting  - all invited -

To be held in the Kenilworth Room on IBM Warwick on Wednesday March 12th.  Coffee will be served at 11 am with the meeting starting at 11.30 am.  The meeting is expected to conclude between 12.30 and 1 pm; those remaining for lunch can obtain a £4 voucher towards their meal.  For security purposes and for number of vouchers required, all attendees should return the attached intention slip.  The Agenda will follow the usual format i.e. - Chairman's and Treasurer's Reports, Elections/Re-elections, general discussion and open-floor questions.  If any member has a resolution for discussion that may need some research, could they submit that in advance, with the attendance slip.

As stated in the previous newsletter there are two vacancies on the Committee, and we require a new secretary.  Of course any member may stand for consideration for any position.  In the event that there are no nominees for other than the vacancies above, the existing Officers and Committee will be re-elected.

If you are willing to serve therefore, could you please line up your proposer and seconder and submit your name as above.

( The Committee meets once a month, presently Tuesday mornings.  We input and discuss administration matters, new ideas, and plan forthcoming activities. Each committee member may take charge of 2/3 events in the year, he will organise same, and carry them out within our budget constraints - hopefully!)

Roll up with your ideas and input and we'll give you a free lunch!                                        Use reply slip

Your Racing Calendar - 2003  -  Regret to say that the advertised Ludlow meeting (July) is not being held this year.  We are therefore going severely up market and planning Ladies day at Royal Ascot which is Thursday June 19th  (Yes I know it's the day after the Summer Lunch - we should all be in the festive mood!)  We are infilling a Coach, but Warwick will be last pickup and first return drop-off so not too tedious.  Price includes admission to the Silver Ring, and 3 course meal on the return journey.  Are you sitting down? - it is £50 per head member/1st guest price - probably extra guests by negotiation!  John Smith organising - Booking form attached

Look ahead to New year 2003  - Those of us who went to Guernsey in the Autumn were so impressed with the Peninsula Hotel and the New Year package they were offering, that some of us decided to sign up for next New Year, and there's nothing like getting in early.  The price is expected to be around £180 pp. You will also need to make your own travel arrangements or possibly we could get some group travel.  This note is for anyone who may be interested to add on to those already with their names down.  This event is not on our programme as it is a private arrangement at the moment.  There is a strong possibility however, that dependent on Club finances at YE, we could get a subsidy  Contact Brian Wilson (01926 777710) for details.
