IBM Retirees Club (Midlands)

February 2009 Newsletter

There was quite a large IBM contingent at Mallory Court for the Burns Night celebrations in aid of the Guide Dogs for the Blind, made of members of both the main IBM Warwick Club and the Retirees Club.   A good time was had by all and it is pleasing to note that a respectable sum was raised for the Guide Dogs.  Our thanks to Heskett Dawson for all his work in organising this event together with some input from Andy Smith.

We have the Spring Lunch in Stratford on 22nd of February which looks like it will be entertaining and looking ahead to March there is our trip to Greenwich on the 5th.   Alan Bridgman tells me that the coach is filling up but at the time of writing there are a few seats left - don't miss out on what should be an interesting day out.

Also in March is the Annual General Meeting on the 16th.   Here is a good opportunity to have your say about our Club - you can be sure that the Committee take what members have to say on board.  The announcement is repeated in this Newsletter for your convenience.

The coach company are pressing for final numbers  for our trip to Northern Ireland - apparently they have to confirm room numbers with the hotel at this early stage as Northern Ireland has become quite a popular tourist destination.  So if you were thinking of booking and haven't yet done so, do it now as we are having to set a deadline of February 28th.  Details appeared in the January Newsletter.

You will find the announcement for our trip to Northumberland later in this Newsletter, together with a booking form.  Tony Mancell tells me that there has already been a lot of interest in this trip so get your booking form to him as soon as possible.
