June 2006 Newsletter
Editorial
Gordon did it again with the weather so this helped to ensure the rambling weekend was a success, with good conditions for walking. The hotel got a favourable mention, both for food and accomodation. Those of you who would like to enter the photographic competition should get your entries in by 30th June. Our thanks to Gordon for organising a most successful trip.
Our day out to Wisley on 23rd May attracted 29 members and guests. The weather was kind - we had one heavy shower but this occurred during our lunch break. Several members commented that it is a fascinating location for anyone at all interested in gardening and I am sure some will be making a return journey under their own steam. Many thanks to Terry King for his efforts in organising a very enjoyable day out.

For those of you who haven't yet booked for the Summer Lunch on 28th June, there is still time to do so. See later in this Newsletter for further details, together with booking form and menu.

Due to a cancellation, there are two places available on our trip to Edinburgh on 15-18th August. Please contact Ray Castle on 01789 751228 immediately if you would like to go; details appeared in the January 2006 Newsletter. Would all participants please note that Ray will contact them individually regarding final payment.

I have received an email from Gordon Jones, as follows:-
"While at Cosford I was talking with some of the people on the Vulcan stand. The airfield where the aircraft they are hoping to get back in the air is housed is very close to Lutterworth and it is now possible to visit the site and view the work. Such a visit would be 1 to 2 hours in duration and I thought there may be enough interest to combine one with a pub lunch. Obviously the aim is to raise funds for the project and to that end they ask for a minimum donation of £5 pp. Any views on this idea?"
If anybody would be interested in this visit, please contact Gordon.
