Editorial
59 members and guests attended the lunch at Ryton Organic Gardens. Everybody seemed to enjoy themselves and the speaker went down well - so well that we will very likely invite her back to give one of her other talks. Nobody got lost as far as I know in spite of the rather roundabout approach due to the roadworks. Thanks to Anne Hope for all her efforts.
There is still room on the trip to Portsmouth, so if you would like to go please see the item further in this Newsletter. Highly recommended for those members (like myself) who spent lots of time travelling to Portsmouth for IBM meetings but didn't see any of the many attractions!
You will find the announcement and a booking form later in this Newsletter for our day out to the Bass Museum (now called Coors visitor Centre) followed by an afternoon at Sudbury Hall and the Museum of Childhood. There is something for everybody and so we should have an enjoyable day.

Bass Museum and Sudbury 19th May 2005 (organiser Brian Wilson 01926-777710)
Join us for a day out with a visit to the Bass Visitor Centre in the morning followed by lunch and a visit to the National Trust at Sudbury Hall where the BBC filmed 'Pride and Prejudice', together with the Museum of Childhood.
The bus will leave Warwick top car park at 09:00 to arrive at Burton-on-Trent about 10:15. This will allow time for refreshments before visiting the Bass Museum (now known as the Coors Visitor Centre). The coach will meet us at 12:15 to take us on the short journey to Sudbury Hall where lunch will be available at the Vernon Arms in Sudbury village. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy Sudbury Hall and the Museum of Childhood. The coach will depart from Sudbury about 16:15 and arrive back at Warwick at 17:30.
The cost to members and first guest will be £10 to include coach travel, admission to the Visitor Centre and £5 towards lunch. Entrance to Sudbury Hall and Museum of Childhood is free to National Trust members. Please indicate on the booking form if you are/are not members of the National Trust as it may be possible for me to arrange a block booking.
There will be a reduced charge of £5 for members who wish to make their own way to the venues. For those so doing, please note that, at the Bass Visitor Centre, you should drive round the back of the Visitor Centre and park - exit is then through a barrier which requires a four-digit code (obtainable from the reception desk). The Vernon Arms has a car park at the rear and at Sudbury Hall there is a free car park about 500 yards from the hall with a buggy service which operates at frequent intervals between the hall and the car park. Any members with disabilities should note that there should be no problems at the Bass Museum but Sudbury does involve stairs to get to the upper floors.
There is a lot to see and do at both the locations so don't linger too long over refreshments!

Northumberland Trip 3rd-6th June 2005
Final payments are due to the Coach Company mid April. To enable us to receive your cheques, bank them and issue a cheque to the company, your cheques are required by 9th April please.
The itinerary includes visit to Cragside House & Gardens, this is a National Trust property. It would be helpful if you could indicate on the booking form whether you are members of the National Trust; this will speed up the booking arrangements.
Return the attached booking form, together with your cheque by Saturday 9th April.
