Our trip to the Wye Valley on 27th April attracted 25 members and guests who had a most interesting day out. We were accompanied on the coach by a local guide, Brian Draper, who kept us well informed of the points of interest along the way. The staff at Hereford Cathedral were even more informed (if that were possible!) - one of the highlights was the Mappa Mundi but there was a lot more to see and this upset our schedule somewhat. However, we had time for a leisurely refreshment stop at Tintern Abbey which was made more pleasant by the sunshine. Thanks to Carole for all her organisation.
There are still a few places on the trip to Wisley on 23rd May so phone Terry King (01327-260132) immediately if you would like to go to a place that is a must for anyone interested in gardens and gardening .
I am repeating the announcement for the RAF Cosford Air Show on 11th June as there are still some places on the coach; some members have opted to go under their own steam so this gives us the opportunity to reduce the prices for second guests - again, contact Gordon (01455 556192) as he needs to know the number of tickets required as soon as possible.
In case you were wondering when we were going to announce the Summer Lunch, you will see the announcement later in this Newsletter. Apologies for the delay but we hope you will understand the reasons for this.

Cosford Air Show Sunday 11th June 2006 (organiser Gordon Jones)
We are running a coach from IBM Warwick to the Cosford Air Show.
The timing has been arranged to get to Cosford for mid morning and to stay until the end of flying. The Air Museum is open on the day and is included in the ticket price. A coach should have preferential access and so be better than going it alone.
The costs will be:-
Member and first guest:
Return Coach and entrance ticket £13.50
Ticket only, find your own way £9.00
Second Guests:
Return Coach and entrance ticket £13.50
Ticket only, find your own way £12.00
Tickets at the gate on the day will be £15.00.

Trip to Alsace 9-15 July 2006 (organiser - John Smith)
The balance for this holiday is now due. The coach company cut-off date is 1st June 2006 so please send me your cheques for the balance of your bookings, i.e. £270 per member or 1st guest, by the 28th May 2006. Also they require the details of your travel insurance, as listed on the booking form. If you intend to leave your car at IBM Warwick during the holiday, can you please include your registration number, so we can pass it to Security.

IBM Retirees Midlands Summer Luncheon 28th June 2006 (organiser - Carole Robertson)
Whilst Carole very much wanted to ring the changes this year, we have been badly let down by the Restaurant originally booked. Carole does not feel comfortable with their promises to "produce on the day" and has in view of the time available booked again at the Old School House at Weeford. This restaurant continues to have a superb reputation for good food and value for money. We have again booked to eat in the marquee which proved to be perfect for a June luncheon last year. Attached to this newsletter is a booking form together with a copy of the menu for you to select your choice.
Drinks will be served from 12:30 with lunch at 1 pm. Look forward to seeing you there.
