Well the last month was busier than expected! The trips to The Shrewsbury Flower Show and The Houses of Parliament went ahead as planned and were enjoyed by all who participated.

In addition, Carole Robertson managed to slip in a much sought after visit to Highgrove. It was a mighty shock to Carole when, after about three years waiting, we got the slot at virtually no notice. My thanks to both Carole and those of you who responded so quickly and my apologies to those who missed out due to the limited numbers and the fact that we had to announce by email only to meet the timescale. We will try for another visit as and when we are told there is a slot for us.

Our next two events are the Skittles evening and the "ethnic" dinner ( I can't help wondering if a truely English meal would qualify?), they are detailed below. I shall probably repeat this until the rivers run dry ................... It would be good to see some more of you participating especially at the Christmas Lunch at Honiley Court on December 17th.

Yours sincerely,

Alan Palmer

Emergency Contact Telephone

You will have noticed in the announcements for some recent events that we have provided a contact mobile telephone number so that the organiser can be contacted should a member have a problem on the day of the event, e.g. car breakdown, traffic delay, etc.  This facility has proved useful on several occasions.

Because each organiser has his own personal number, this has meant that each event had a different contact number.  To simplify matters, the Committee decided that there should be an Emergency Contact Telephone which the organiser would have with them on the day of the event.

So if you have any problems on the day of an event, ring 07835 280 453.  I have updated the Commmittee Contact List with this information.

Lebanese Meal – Wednesday 11th November at 7.30pm  (organiser Dave Compton)

A new Lebanese restaurant has opened in Jury Street, Warwick, which has been booked for our November ‘Ethnic Dinner’. The cuisine is excellent and shares similarities with the Turkish meal we had last year, but with regional variations in style, flavours and preparation. Unfortunately there will be no belly dancing but we hope the food and location will compensate.

The meal will consist of traditional Lebanese starters, followed by a selection of main courses (vegetarian options available - please state on the booking form) finished off by desert and coffee. You will also receive a voucher towards the cost of your own choice drinks.

The cost will be £17 per member and first guest. Go to attached booking form and send to Dave Compton with full payment ASAP.
