March 2020 Newsletter

In view of the current Coronavirus crisis the IBM Retirees Club (Midlands) has, with regret, cancelled the Triumph motorcycle factory visit and the Spring lunch. Both these events were well booked. We will not plan further events until we get guidance from the government that it is safe to do so.

Refund cheques have been sent to everybody who booked one of the cancelled events; if you have not received yours, please contact the treasurer, Paul Gover (ibmmidretmoney@gmail.com).

Draft minutes of the 2020 AGM can be found on the website. Following the AGM we are pleased to welcome Sheila Short to the Committee.

The Committee is continuing to meet using Zoom for video conferencing.

IBM Retirees PC and Technology Group (founded by Harry Green)

The IBM Retirees PC and Technology Group meets every alternate month for a lively discussion on PC and technology topics in the digital age. There are usually one or two specific presentations given by members or by outside speakers, which the members of the Group have requested. We try to provide a reasonable balance between PC “techie” topics, new technology, and topics of a more general nature such as digital television, Internet telephony and digital photography. So whether you are a newcomer to the PC or a more experienced user, we hope you will find something of interest. You are very welcome to join us.

See here for more information.
