IBM Retirees Club (Midlands)

November 2012 Newsletter

We had a most successful evening at Snitterfield playing skittles, certainly if the buzz of conversation and the late departure of many members was anything to go by.   Many thanks to Dave Dagley for all his efforts - I don't think he will need his arm twisting TOO much to do it again next year.

Meanwhile, we have the Christmas Lunch to look forward to.  For those of you who haven't yet booked, I am repeating the announcement for your convenience.  As is our custom, we will announce the 2013 program at the Lunch and the Committee hope you will find something of interest amongst the planned events.

Timing 12:00 for 12:45

This year we have not been able to keep the cost of the Christmas lunch quite as low as it has been for the last couple of years because of the reduction in grant from IBM, but it still represents excellent value at £20.00 per head for members and first guests. There will be the usual welcome drink on arrival and wine with the meal.

Sub-Groups of  IBM Club and Retirees Club

IBM Retirees PC and Technology Group (founded by Harry Green)

The IBM Retirees PC and Technology Group meets every alternate month for a lively discussion on PC and technology topics in the digital age. There are usually one or two specific presentations given by members or by outside speakers, which the members of the Group have requested. We try to provide a reasonable balance between PC "techie" topics, new technology, and topics of a more general nature such as digital television, Internet telephony and digital photography . So whether you are a newcomer to the PC or a more experienced user, we hope you will find something of interest. You are very welcome to join us.
