Editorial
62 members and guests attended the Summer Lunch at Billesley Manor and many thanks to Carole for organising this event at what all agreed was an excellent location. There was, however, some disappointment with the standard of service, particularly in view of the reputation the hotel enjoys, but I'm sure Carole will be "having words" with the hotel management.
In contrast, those who went to the National Arboretum enjoyed an excellent meal which was praiseworthy in view of the fact that this is very much a 'mass catering' outlet but just shows what can be done. Our thanks to Dave Compton for a most enjoyable and informative day out - we visited Lichfield Cathedral in the morning and employed the services of a Lichfield Cathedral guide who told us of the many fascinating aspects of the Cathedral. After lunch, we were shown over some of the site by one of their guides who was able to answer the many questions we had. It is certainly a big site (and getting bigger) and it might be worth mentioning that if you have any walking problems there are electric buggies to help get you around.

Announcements and Advertisments
“One Night in November” by Alan Pollock a full dramatised production depicting the events of 14th November 1940 will be held at Burton Dassett Church, Saturday 27th October 2012 at 7.30pm. Previously staged in the Belgrade Theatre in 2008, it poses the question “Would you sacrifice a city to win the war?”. The Birmingham Post said “A gripping piece of storytelling, with touches of humour amongst the misery as the tragic events of the night and its impact on the city of Coventry unfold.” This promises to be a moving and thought-provoking evening, not to be missed. Tickets are £12 each and will include a glass of wine. Please contact me for further information and to book tickets.

Sub-Groups of IBM Club and Retirees Club
IBM Retirees PC and Technology Group (founded by Harry Green)
The IBM Retirees PC and Technology Group meets every alternate month for a lively discussion on PC and technology topics in the digital age. There are usually one or two specific presentations given by members or by outside speakers, which the members of the Group have requested. We try to provide a reasonable balance between PC "techie" topics, new technology, and topics of a more general nature such as digital television, Internet telephony and digital photography . So whether you are a newcomer to the PC or a more experienced user, we hope you will find something of interest. You are very welcome to join us.
