January 2020 Newsletter

In this newsletter we have the announcement and booking form for an evening meal at Sabai Sabai in Leamington on Wednesday 5th February. If you would like to go please get your booking form into Terry King no later than Sunday 26th January.

We had a very good initial response last month to the announcement of a Triumph Motorcycle Factory Tour in March and we have booked one tour which is full. We have now booked a second tour and have some places available on this tour. If you are interested then please contact Richard Short (rdshort9@gmail.com).

We are planning to hold the club’s annual general meeting on Monday 9 March at the Knowle British Legion Clubhouse starting at 10:30 a.m. The meeting will be followed by a buffet lunch. Full details of the agenda etc. will be sent to members in February.

The start of a new year is perhaps a good time to remind members of the arrangements we have with the Warwick Club for members of the Midlands Retirees Club to attend their events; see here.

IBM Retirees PC and Technology Group (founded by Harry Green)

The IBM Retirees PC and Technology Group meets every alternate month for a lively discussion on PC and technology topics in the digital age. There are usually one or two specific presentations given by members or by outside speakers, which the members of the Group have requested. We try to provide a reasonable balance between PC “techie” topics, new technology, and topics of a more general nature such as digital television, Internet telephony and digital photography. So whether you are a newcomer to the PC or a more experienced user, we hope you will find something of interest. You are very welcome to join us.

See here for more information.
